Tunneling
Tunneling leverages Central Data and the HighByte Namespaces to provide access to data sources, pipelines, and system statistics from remote hubs without requiring additional Namespace configuration on those remote hubs. Hubs do this by automatically populating their HighByte namespaces that are accessible through a central hub. This provides a unified view of:
- Condition references
- Single and Templated Connection references
- Single and Templated Instance references
- Callable Pipelines references
- System and Statistics references.
Prerequisites
-
Enable Central Hub on the Central Hub
Central Hub must be enabled on the hub that will act as the central hub. This setting is found in Admin | Settings under theEnable Central Huboption. See Setup for detailed instructions. -
Connect Remote Hubs with Central Data Enabled
One or more remote hubs must be connected to the central hub with Central Data enabled. Central Data must be enabled when adding or configuring the remote hub connection. See Remote Hub for instructions on connecting remote hubs and Central Data for details on enabling Central Data. -
Enable HighByte Namespace on Remote Hubs
Remote hubs must have the HighByte Namespace feature enabled in their application settings. This setting is found in Admin | Settings under the Configuration section. Enable theHighByte Namespaceoption to automatically generate namespace nodes for readable project references. See Application Settings for more information.
Using the Remote Mapping Page
Once the prerequisites are met, the Remote Mapping page provides an interface for browsing and exploring the HighByte namespace of connected remote hubs.
Accessing Remote Mapping
-
Navigate to Namespaces in the configuration’s main menu.
-
Click on the Remote Mapping tab in the namespace navigation.
-
Select a remote hub from the available list of connected hubs with Central Data enabled.
-
