Central Data

Central Data is a feature that allows a central hub to access Namespace data from connected remote hubs. This enables the central hub to query, monitor, and work with data across multiple remote hubs from a single interface, making it easier to build centralized data pipelines and dashboards that aggregate data from distributed Intelligence Hub instances.

Overview

When Central Data is enabled for a remote hub connection, the central hub can:

  • Browse and query the namespace of remote hubs
  • Use remote hub namespace data in pipelines on the central hub
  • Build centralized data processing workflows that aggregate data from multiple remote locations
  • Monitor data from distributed systems in a single location

This is particularly useful in scenarios where:

  • A facility has multiple Intelligence Hub instances running closer to machines or production lines
  • You need to aggregate data from multiple sites or areas for centralized dashboards
  • You want to build pipelines on the central hub that process data from remote locations

Prerequisites

Before using Central Data, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Enable Central Hub on the Central Hub
Central Hub must be enabled on the hub that will act as the central hub. See Setup for instructions on enabling Central Hub.

  2. Connect Remote Hubs
Remote hubs must be connected to the central hub. See Remote Hub for instructions on connecting remote hubs.

Enabling Central Data

Central Data is enabled on the remote hub, before connecting. See Remote Hub

Browsing Remote Data

Use the Remote Mapping page to browse and import nodes from a remote hub:

  • Select a remote node
  • Browse the remote nodes namespace
  • Drag-and-drop the desired nodes into the Central namespace.

Using Central Data

Once Central Data is enabled for a remote hub, you can access its namespace data from Pipelines using the using the Smart Query Stage stage and Namespace trigger.
